Not OKAY: These shoes

I've been seeing more and more of these opera pump/velvety slipper things than I'd like to. A few nights ago, they were sitting next to me at Bar Pitti and later that night I spotted another pair dancing just feet away at Socialista. There's something about them that's soo contrived. The attempted look is "Blue Blood Ivy League WASP" but all I see is "Pretentious Murray Hill (ex) Banker.

Am I right?
